Terraforming (”Earth‐shaping”) is a term from astronomy, defining the theoretical process of deliberately modifying the atmosphere, temperature or topography of a new planet, to make it habitable by humans.
We believe that it is our World that needs to be “terraformed” first (making it a
better and more human) before we start changing other planets.

The project is developed by Terraforming, in cooperation with a Roma Theatre from Serbia, a group of Swedish artists from Stockholm, and supported by the Swedish Institute's program "Creative Force - Western Balkans".

Supported by the Swedish Institute, Terraforming organized an expert-exchange program with a group of 10 Serbian Roma Rights activists. They visited Stockholm for 7 days in October 2011.

Exhibitions and performances "Ones upon a time, when I came to Sweden..." - young investigators will research how it was to come to Sweden as an immigrant or a refugee in 1960's - 1990's, and how Sweden was in that time. The project is developed by Terraforming, owned by Serbian Youth Organization in Sweden, and subsidized by The Swedish Inheritance Fund (Arvsfonden).

After Terraforming South was launched in Novi Sad (Serbia) in October 2010, Terraforming Sarajevo starting its work in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
After the Terraforming network meeting in Amsterdam, a group of activists from Sarajevo, creative people from the media, music and international development work, are carrying on the Terraforming concept to Bosnia & Herzegovina.

This summer, Swedish Institute has been supporting the Cerain Cookbook project through its "Creative Force: Western Balkans" program. With the Swedish Institutet's grant, in cooperation with the Serbian Youth Organization in Sweden, Vojvodina Roma Center for Democracy, and the Ministry of education of the Vojvodina province, Terraforming has been working on the project in Novi Sad, Vrsac, Backa Palanka and other places in Serbia.
